Gym, classes and fitness
We're dedicated to helping our members stay fit and well in whatever way suits them.
Our gym is a place where you can spend as much or as little time as you wish and get a great workout, with a range of equipment versatile enough to accommodate everyone.
The gym is open 6.15am - 10.00pm Monday - Friday, and 7.00am - 8.00pm Saturdays and Sundays.
We offer a range of memberships which give you access to our fitness facilities.
Alternatively, we also welcome day visitors - simply create your free Places membership before visiting.
Our pay as you go gym sessions are currently priced at £9.00 for adults and £4.40 for juniors (11-15 years old).

We operate a range of fitness classes at our centre. Take a look at some of the types of activities we've got for you:
Studio classes
Offering a range of intensities from gentle and relaxing to a more intensive workout, you’ll be able to find a class that suits you.
Les Mills
Les Mills classes are enjoyed all over the world and include Body Pump, Body Combat and Body Balance
Group Cycling
Our exciting, instructor led indoor cycling classes are perfect for beginners to serious cyclists. A fantastic calories burner.
RT24
Relentless 24 is a functional training programme that focuses on HIIT and HIRT.
HIIT
High intensity interval training
Each class is designed to be no longer than 24 minutes of work. This allows us to work at High Intensity in short interval periods. The timing and structure of each class will vary but each class is based under the HIIT principles.
HIRT
High intensity resistance training
RT24 uses 'high volume, low loading' within RT24 to get the muscles to fatigue. It is when in the fatigue state that the muscles will grow. Each class is designed to target every major muscle group so you are getting a full body workout.

I’ve been a PT for almost two years now and have found myself predominantly working with women of all ages and backgrounds. This has increased my knowledge of working with different individuals with different goals; some are looking for support on training for a specific goal, others are looking to be the best version of themselves.
What they all have in common is they’re unsure of where to start but I can confidently say training with me will be enjoyable whilst still allowing them to achieve their goals.

I’m the senior fitness instructor at Places Leisure Eastleigh, and I’ve been a PT for 7 years now! In this time I’ve worked with 100’s of women to build their confidence, strength and overall knowledge of fitness. Whether your goal is to tone up, lose weight, increase strength, get into weight training – I’m the PT for you!
I focus on sports specific training, weight and strength training and bikini bodybuilding competitions.

As a dedicated personal trainer, I specialise in functional training, strength training, and Olympic weightlifting. In my approach I aim to equip you with the strength and stamina needed for routine activities and unexpected challenges alike. Whether it’s lifting heavy objects, playing with your children, or maintaining proper posture during long workdays, the skills, and techniques that you’ll acquire will promote longevity and vitality.
Through tailored workouts, I prioritise functional movements and strength-building exercises, aiming to enhance your overall physical capabilities and resilience. I specialise in sports performance, strength training and I’m a movement specialist.

I am a former professional footballer with years of experience learning a variety of training methods to maintain an elite level and all round fitness. I bring my passion and energy to each session to help them to be enjoyable and to motivate all those around me to reach their health and fitness goals.
I specialise in general fitness, sports strength, conditioning and rehabilitation, and muscle toning and building.
Tom
I am keen to inspire and motivate everyone to improve their quality of life by helping you to achieve your goals, within and outside the fitness world. I specialise in strength & conditioning and have worked with a number of high performing athletes, most noticeably boxing's current WBC International Super Featherweight champion.
Kieran
I'm Kieran! I'm committed to helping you achieve your goals and improving your health for longevity. I specialise in body composition, TRX, calisthenics and strength training.
Martina
I aim to motivate, inspire and support you to achieve your fitness and lifestyle goals. I ensure each session is fun, progressive, effective and promotes a positive mind set!

Gym support
We offer a free one-to-one support session for our members* to help familiarise you with the gym, to get to know your goals and build a bespoke digital programme using state-of-the-art EGYM Fitness Hub & Tanita Body Composition scales. We’ll ensure you leave the session feeling confident and ready to start your programme. The session lasts for an hour and can be booked online.

You are also welcome to book one free 15-minute programme review a month, just speak to a member of our team.
Our gyms are not always manned, but rest assured support is never far away. Our equipment is labelled with QR codes, which when scanned, provide you with a video tutorial.

Gym etiquette
We want everyone's time in our gym to be as comfortable as possible, so we ask all visitors to remember the below when using the facilities.
- Please help us keep the gym clean by wiping down equipment after use
- Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the activity you're doing
- Lifting barefoot or in socks is permitted on lifting platforms only
- Make use of our lockers for bags
- Our gym's aren't always manned, so if you require assistance or support when there are no team members on the gym floor, please visit our friendly reception team
- In case of emergency, push the assistance alarm
- During busy times, please be mindful of the length of time you spend on each piece of equipment to allow other gym users to complete their workout
Junior Gym etiquette
- A gym induction must be completed before using the gym
- 1 adult (18 years+) can attend with up to four Junior members and is responsible for the Junior member's conduct
- You must follow all exercise programme advice given by our Fitness team

Big sister project
Launching on Monday 5th August
Big Sister helps girls aged 9-15 in target areas feel ‘sport ready’ by recruiting a network of ‘big sisters’ to empower and enable girls to enjoy sport, exercise, and physical activity during puberty.
As part of our commitment to helping girls get into activity we are offering a free membership to girls who meet the eligibility criteria*, or a 50% discounted membership for all other girls, which includes:
- Unlimited gym use during Junior Gym hours, which includes a 1:1 gym induction (11-15 year olds)
- Unlimited swimming
- Age appropriate group workout classes including exclusive We Move classes every Wednesday 4.30pm - 5.15pm
- Friendly on-site team, to support you through your activity
- Free access to Places Leisure App and Virtual Studio which includes a Big Sister channel

Junior fitness
We run the following supervised sessions for children aged 11-15 years to attend:
Session times:
- Monday - Friday 3.30pm - 4.15pm & 4.15pm - 5.00pm
- Saturday and Sunday 10.15am - 11.00am & 2.15pm - 3.00pm
All junior gym users must complete a group introduction before using the gym independently. These sessions last 30 minutes and can be booked with a member of our team when joining.
Once a junior member has completed their introduction and received programme advice they can attend outside the above supervised sessions with a parent/guardian or appropriate adult (18+) on a ratio of a maximum four juniors per adult.
GP Referral scheme
At Places Leisure Eastleigh we're dedicated to supporting recovery, rehabilitation and your overall health and wellbeing.
If you have suffered an illness or recently had an operation our GP referral sessions will help you get back into fitness. You’ll need a ‘prescription to exercise’ from your doctor to get started and our instructors will support you through your sessions.

Forever Active
We also offer a range of classes and activities for our older adults at Places Leisure Eastleigh.

Forever Active is a low impact keep fit class with an extended warm up to maintain and improve co-ordination, flexibility, strength and fitness.
