Law and leisure tackle anti-social behaviour

Sussex Police and Places Leisure are combining forces to tackle antisocial behaviour across Sussex with the creation of Reboot (Sussex early intervention youth programme) 

Reboot is a four-stage early intervention youth programme in Sussex. 

Built to engage with young people aged between 11 to 17. The program aims to tackle their actions early by offering other forms of enrichment such as using the gym, classes, swimming, and more. 

The project, which runs for 3 months, funded by Sussex Police, and forms part of their commitment to identifying and providing effective early support to children and young people who are at risk of being drawn into crime, violence or repeat victimisation. Academic evidence shows that effective early interventions can improve a child’s life chances.  

The Sussex Police Reboot offer sits in the early intervention space and will focus on those aged 10 to 17 years old and coming to repeat notice. This is a phased approach with diversionary activities for the child/young person but also holistic family support. 

The sessions are then hosted at selected Places Leisure centres which are: 

The Dolphin Leisure Centre in Haywards Heath, Kings Leisure Centre in East Grinstead, The Triangle in Burgess Hill, the Bridge Leisure Centre, Steyning Leisure Centre, Billingshurst Leisure Centre, and the Pavilions in The Park in Horsham.
