Sarah Roberts takes home EuropeActive Award
Triumph for our Head of Fitness!
Our Head of Fitness, Sarah Roberts, was shortlisted as a Finalist for this year’s EuropeActive Awards and scooped up the Active Citizenship Award at the event last week.
The award champions leaders who have shown great attention to critical causes such as green transition, environmental protection, inclusion, and physical activity. It also celebrates those who have boosted social responsibility, ensured equitable access to health and fitness, contributed to community betterment, and committed to greater awareness and positive change within their work.
This is best shown in how Sarah constantly engages with and empowers our communities, especially with initiatives like our Big Sister Project. Sarah consistently "advocates for impactful causes, promoting inclusivity and a respect for diversity, contributing positively to society and the sector.”
Another area that Sarah works closely with, and we pride ourselves on, is our group workout classes. They’re a fundamental part of how we support the health and wellbeing journeys of our communities, and we’ve now achieved record class numbers post-Covid across our centres. It’s no secret that we have some of the best classes in the industry, and our instructors do a vital job in delivering these across the country.
Sarah recently spoke to Les Mills, one of our partners, about the success of our group classes. We’re pleased that so many of our members are finding a place to socialise and stay active with us. Sarah’s reflections point towards how having the right people and partners across our centres can make a huge difference.
